How to Make an AI Agent that Writes and Posts SEO Blog Content Automatically
Create an AI content writer that researches topics, writes SEO-optimized blog posts, and publishes them automatically to your website or CMS. Never run out of content again.
What You'll Build
In this tutorial, you'll create an AI-powered content agent that can:
- Research trending topics - Find what's popular in your niche using AI-powered research
- Write SEO-optimized content - Generate complete blog posts with proper keywords and structure
- Auto-publish to your blog - Automatically post content to WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, or any CMS
- Schedule content calendar - Maintain a consistent posting schedule without manual work
Prerequisites
Before starting, you'll need:
- •An Everna account (sign up at app.everna.io)
- •A blog or website where you want to publish content
- •Access to your CMS (WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, etc.) or a way to publish content
No technical knowledge required. This works with any blogging platform.
Step 1: Create Your Content Writing Agent
Create New Agent
Go to app.everna.io and click "New Agent". Give it a name like "SEO Content Writer" or "Blog Automation Bot".
Define Your Content Strategy
This is the most important part. Tell your agent exactly what kind of content you want. Here are some examples:
Example 1: Tech Blog
"Research trending topics in AI and machine learning. Write detailed, beginner-friendly blog posts (1000-1500 words) that explain concepts clearly. Include code examples when relevant. Focus on tutorials and how-to guides. Use keywords like 'AI tutorial', 'machine learning guide', 'deep learning basics'. Publish one post every 3 days to my WordPress blog using the API."
Example 2: Business Blog
"Find trending topics in digital marketing and entrepreneurship. Write actionable blog posts (800-1200 words) with practical tips. Include real examples and case studies. Target keywords like 'marketing strategies', 'business growth', 'startup tips'. Post twice per week. Keep the tone professional but conversational."
Example 3: E-commerce Blog
"Write product comparison articles and buying guides for home decor items. Research best-selling products, compare features and prices, include pros and cons lists. Target long-tail keywords like 'best smart home devices 2024', 'affordable furniture ideas'. Include affiliate links. Post 2-3 times per week."
Enable Required Tools
Your agent needs access to certain tools to write and publish content:
- Web Search - To research topics and find trending content ideas
- Your CMS Tool - WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, or file storage to save drafts
- Notifications (Optional) - Get alerts via Email or Slack when new content is published
Connect your WordPress site or other CMS by providing the connection details when setting up tools.
Launch Your Agent
Click "Create Agent" and it will start working immediately. Your AI writer will research, write, and publish content on the schedule you defined.
Best Practices for SEO Content
- Focus on quality over quantity
Tell your agent to write in-depth, valuable content rather than churning out short posts. Google rewards quality.
- Use specific keywords
Give your agent a list of target keywords for your niche. Be specific about long-tail keywords you want to rank for.
- Review first few posts
Monitor the first 3-5 posts your agent creates. Adjust the goal if needed to improve quality or tone.
- Set a consistent schedule
Publishing consistently (e.g., every 3 days) is better for SEO than irregular posting. Tell your agent the exact schedule.
Common Issues
Content is too generic or short
Add more detail to your goal. Specify word count (e.g., "1200-1500 words"), include examples of the style you want, and list specific topics or angles to cover.
Agent not publishing automatically
Check that your CMS connection is properly configured. Make sure the agent has the correct permissions and that your WordPress/CMS credentials are valid.
Topics are not relevant
Be more specific in your goal about the exact niche, audience, and topics. Include a list of example topics or competitors whose content style you like.
